“It’s not by happenstance that this is freedom weekend. It’s not by happenstance that we are fighting for our rights during the weekend of Juneteenth…For those of us from the South…you know what it’s like to fight for freedom. And right now, it is shameful, absolutely shameful, that my opponent just this week went on a radio show on a rant flipping that quickly on the voters of this district. His back is up against the wall, and guess who put it there? You all put it there. WE put it there!”
