Recently, Glenn Youngkin and Virginia Republicans have done a complete about-face, after years of their party demonizing and fighting against early voting, and have launched a huge push for…yep, early voting. Why? Simple: because Republicans have been getting their asses kicked by Democrats when it comes to early voting, and it’s been hurting Republicans on election day.
The only problems with Youngkin et al’s “180” on early voting? First of all, Virginia Republicans aren’t pushing for early voting for EVERYONE, only for Republican voters, while they continue their voter suppression efforts against Democratic voters, such as they’re doing illegally in Richmond. Second, the leader of their party, Donald Trump, is most assuredly NOT on board with this. Check it out from Trump’s appearance this morning on MAGA radio (“The John Fredericks Show”):
“When you have mail-in ballots, you’re never gonna get an honest vote….one day [voting]…that’s where we should be.” – Donald Trump
Thoughts, Glenn Youngkin? Oh wait, he’s busy singlehandely stopping Fentanyl at the border, right? LOL Seriously, though, as VA House Democratic Leader puts it:
“Let’s ask the MAGA Republicans in Virginia if they still agree with The Donald that mail-in ballots are fraudulent or have they changed their ways only temporarily to gain power. Come on true journalists! Ask em! Based on their votes just this last legislative session, they do.” – Don Scott
C’mon, “true journalists” (if there are any left), do your job and ask ’em!
Clip of Trump calling mail-in ballots dishonest, unsecure and disgraceful.
And by the way: voting by mail or early in person still sure is patriotic! https://t.co/E6u5jEfqzv pic.twitter.com/vV1GrOKS0x
