Good news from the Democratic Governors Association (DGA)…and the first of presumably MUCH more to come!
DGA Announces Initial $5 Million Investment in the Virginia Governor’s Race
The Democratic Governors Association is announcing it will make an initial investment of $5 million to support Abigail Spanberger’s campaign for governor in Virginia.
“The DGA is proud to make this initial investment to back Abigail Spanberger, a former federal law enforcement officer and CIA case officer, and a mom of three children in public schools who has always put Virginia first,” said DGA Chair Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly. “Abigail delivered bipartisan results for veterans, seniors, and the middle class in Congress, and she’s running to strengthen public schools, lower the cost of health care and housing, and stand up for Virginia’s jobs and freedoms. The ongoing economic uncertainty of rising prices and Republican attacks on Medicaid, public education, and the federal workforce only raise the stakes of this critical race, and we will continue working alongside Abigail to make history and win this November.”
This investment comes as Spanberger recently outlined her plans to lower Virginians’ health care and housing costs. In contrast, Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears has come under fire for refusing to comment on her extreme anti-abortion record, failing to speak out against Donald Trump’s disastrous plan to gut Medicaid, and dismissing the concerns of Virginians who lost their jobs.
