Video: Fmr. Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA02) Says She Believes History “will tell the truth about this time…will not elevate January 6th rioters to heroes”

Let’s just hope that former Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA02) is right about this. Personally, I believe that history tends to be written by the victors. So we’d better win this fight for democracy, truth, justice, etc. Or we’ll be in deep, deep shit – on many levels, including the distortion of history.

I do truly believe that history when written, looking back on this. will tell the truth about this time. It will not elevate January 6th rioters to heroes. It will clearly lay out the fact that President Biden won the 2020 election, and that all of these lies and conspiracy theories were really meant for the Republicans to essentially dupe people and regain political power based off of a chip on Trump’s shoulder and a grudge. But it was all lies. And I think you probably saw when we had a a 5-year commemorative hearing of January 6th when the committee came back together, we had a woman who testified and, you know, she was there at the Capitol. She was trampled by other fellow rioters. Her life was literally saved by Capitol police officers while she was injured. But in the end, you know, years later, looking back, she clearly said to the world, this was a lie, I was duped, I was lied to, I was called by Trump to the capital to be there for this and it was all a lie. And I think that what she was trying to lay out about making sure that everyone else who had fallen under that trap, I understood that as well.

By the way, one step in the direction away from lies and towards truth will be to replace the odious MAGA Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-VA02) with Elaine Luria this November. Let’s make that so!
