Rep. Elaine Luria Releases New Ad: “Fight for Virginia” Emphasizing Her Commitment to Fighting for Virginians by Taking on Corruption and Lowering Prices
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Former small business owner, 20-year Navy veteran, and two-term member of Congress Rep. Elaine Luria released “Fight for Virginia,” her second ad of the 2026 cycle today. The ad highlights her background as a Navy veteran and small business owner who will fight for Virginia, lower the costs of living, and take on corruption in Washington.
“Jen Kiggans’ broken promises are squeezing Virginia’s families at the gas pump, grocery store, and pharmacy counter. She went to Washington to vote 100% of the time with Donald Trump and the most corrupt administration in American history to give tax breaks to her billionaire donors and support another endless war in the Middle East,” Rep. Luria said. “Virginia needs a fighter in Washington who will work for them and improve their lives, not another rubber-stamp for Donald Trump’s cost-spiking policies. Whether serving on combatant ships around the world or in Congress, I have fought for Virginia before, and I am ready to fight for our Commonwealth again.”

This week, Virginia State Sen. Aaron Rouse, and Virginia Del. Alex Askew, Del. Nadarius Clark, Del. Michael Feggans, Del. Kelly Convirs-Fowler, and Del. Cliff Hayes formally endorsed Rep. Luria to take on corruption in Washington and lower prices for working families.
Last week, Rep. Luria released her plan to Right the Ship in Washington to end the corruption in Washington and take on higher prices that are squeezing Virginia’s families. The campaign’s first ad of 2026, “Ready,” highlights her commitment to fighting for the people of Hampton Roads.

Vulnerable Republican Jen Kiggans AGAIN Votes to Continue Iran War for the Fifth Time
Kiggans sides with Trump for fifth time as service members make the ultimate sacrifice
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Today, vulnerable Republican incumbent Jen Kiggans voted for the fifth time to continue Donald Trump’s reckless war in Iran despite the deaths of four American service members in Iranian attacks and gas prices once again jumping over $4 a gallon in Hampton Road and throughout the country.
Kiggans has said she “couldn’t be a stauncher supporter” of the war and voted against bipartisan resolutions in March and April to end it. In June, Kiggans was caught red-handed scrubbing “parts of her campaign website discussing the cost of gas and the economic struggles of Virginians,” as gas prices soared.
“Donald Trump started a war of choice war with Iran, and Jen Kiggans continues to support it. Now, 18 American service members are dead, more than 400 have been wounded, and Virginia families are stuck suffering the economic consequences of this disastrous decision,” Rep. Elaine Luria said. “Kiggans could have voted to end this war. Instead, she chose to put her own political interests and President Trump above our armed forces and the American people. We deserve better.”
A recent report from The New York Times found that the Pentagon withheld dozens of military casualties caused by the Iran war from the American people.
Grocery prices spiked at their fastest rate in four years while inflation reached its highest level in nearly three years as Jen Kiggans and President Donald Trump’s war in Iran and failed policies continue to squeeze Virginians. This report came after President Trump openly declared that he doesn’t even “think about Americans’ financial situation.”
Jen Kiggans has established a pattern of promising Virginians one thing in public, only to turn around and vote the other way in Washington. Kiggans lied when she promised to protect access to health care, only to turn around and vote for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history. Kiggans lied when she said she would extend the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits, but then voted to allow health care premiums to skyrocket. Kiggans lied again when she promised to protect clean energy tax credits, but then “flip-flopped” and voted to take a “sledgehammer” to the credits instead. Kiggans has voted 100% of the time with Donald Trump – demonstrating that she puts her D.C. party bosses ahead of the Virginians she claims to represent.
Kiggans was a major proponent of DOGE even as the agency wrecked Virginia’s economy and hurt veterans. Local media reported that “Kiggans embraced the program from the outset” and even said DOGE was “so necessary.” It has been reported that Kiggans’ backing of DOGE led to “the termination of more than $8.3 million in grants and leases tied to the district, including funding streams connected to veterans services and facilities.”
