Video: Elaine Luria Releases Two New Ads – Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-VA02) “votes 100% with Trump up there, then lies to us down here”

"Food on the table, gas in the car, a roof over your head....Trump's tariffs, wars and corruption have made it all too expensive"

See below for a press release and videos from Elaine Luria’s VA02 campaign. As always, I’d note that the “corruption in Washington” is coming 99% from one party – the Republican Party – and the cult leader of that party, Donald Trump. Also, as the Luria ads point out, Kiggans “has voted 100% of the time with Donald Trump,” including to fuel his “culture of corruption.” Fortunately, starting in just 8 days, VA02 voters get to start the process of massively upgrading their US House representation, from the utterly amoral Trump sycophant and pathological liar Jen Kiggans to American hero Elaine Luria. Can’t wait!

Elaine Luria Releases Two Ads Highlighting Rising Cost of Living, Corruption in Washington, and Jen Kiggans Being Out of Touch with Hampton Roads

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Former small business owner and 20-year Navy veteran Elaine Luria released “Not a Lot to Ask” and “Head in the Clouds” today highlighting Jen Kiggans’ 100% voting record with Donald Trump that is raising prices for working Virginians and how out of touch she is in Hampton Roads as the cost of gas continues to climb.

“Jen Kiggans went to Washington promising to be an independent voice for Hampton Roads. Instead, she has voted 100% of the time with Donald Trump to raise the cost of gas and groceries, fuel the culture of corruption in Washington, and take health care away from 21,000 Virginians in Virginia’s Second just to give a tax cut to billionaires,” Elaine said. “Virginians want leaders who will take on the culture of corruption in Washington and fight to make the American Dream more affordable for them and their family. It’s not a lot to ask.”

Not a Lot to Ask

Head in the Clouds

Elaine has raised more than $5 million this cycle in her bid to unseat Kiggans. She has outraised Kiggans every quarter this cycle–by nearly 50% each quarter this year– and has surpassed her in cash on hand.

In July, Elaine released her plan to Right the Ship in Washington which includes a ban on stock trading for members of Congress, ending blatant insider trading on prediction markets, lowering prices on gas and everyday goods, and campaign finance reform.

In August, Elaine released her plan to Make Health Care Affordable and Accessible for Every Virginian, which calls for cutting the cost of care, cutting the complexity of care, and closing the rural health care gap.

In July, Elaine released her first two ads of the cycle, including “Ready,” which highlights her commitment to being ready to fight corruption in Washington and lower prices for working families, and “Fight for Virginia,” which highlights how her background as a Navy veteran and small business owner have prepared her to fight for Hampton Roads in Washington.

In addition to being added to the DCCC’s Red to Blue list, Elaine has secured key endorsements from Gov. Abigail Spanberger, Sen. Tim Kaine, Sen. Mark Warner, Rep. Bobby Scott, Rep. James Walkinshaw, Rep. Jennifer McClellan, Rep. Eugene Vindman, Rep. Suhas Subramanyam, Rep. Don Beyer, State Sen. Aaron Rouse, Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates Don Scott, Del. Kelly Convirs-Fowler, Del. Michael Feggans, Del. Nadarius Clark, Del. Cliff Hayes, Del. Alex Askew, SEIU Virginia State Council, United Steelworkers, Amalgamated Transit Union, United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry, International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, AFGE, MoveOn, VoteVets, New Politics, 314 Action Fund, League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Brady PAC, EMILY’s List, DMFI, New Democrat Coalition Action Fund, and Elect Democratic Women.

Jen Kiggans has established a pattern of promising Virginians one thing in public, only to turn around and vote the other way in Washington. Kiggans lied when she promised to protect access to health care, only to turn around and vote for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history. Kiggans lied when she said she would extend the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits, but then voted to allow health care premiums to skyrocket. Kiggans lied again when she promised to protect clean energy tax credits, but then “flip-flopped” and voted to take a “sledgehammer” to the credits instead. Kiggans has voted 100% of the time with Donald Trump – demonstrating that she puts her D.C. party bosses ahead of the Virginians she claims to represent.

Kiggans has said she “couldn’t be a stauncher supporter” of the Iran war and voted against bipartisan resolutions in March and April to end it. Last month, she voted for the fifth time to continue the war despite the deaths of four American service members in Iranian attacks. In June, Kiggans was caught red-handed scrubbing “parts of her campaign website discussing the cost of gas and the economic struggles of Virginians,” as gas prices soared.

A recent report from WAVY found that Virginians have paid up to $2,900 more since Donald Trump returned to office. A report from the Joint Economic Committee found that Virginia families have spent an average of $3,800 more for basic, everyday goods as Donald Trump and Jen Kiggans’ endless war and cost-spiking policies force higher prices on working Virginians.

A report found that grocery prices spiked at their fastest rate in four years while inflation reached its highest level in nearly three years as Jen Kiggans and President Donald Trump’s war in Iran and failed policies continue to squeeze Virginians. This report came after President Trump openly declared that he doesn’t even “think about Americans’ financial situation.”

Kiggans was a major proponent of DOGE even as the agency wrecked Virginia’s economy and hurt veterans. Local media reported that “Kiggans embraced the program from the outset” and even said DOGE was “so necessary.” It has been reported that Kiggans’ backing of DOGE led to “the termination of more than $8.3 million in grants and leases tied to the district, including funding streams connected to veterans services and facilities.”
