Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-VA02) Unleashes a Torrent of Easily Refutable False Statements

Just a torrent of false and misleading statements, as well as flat-out lies, by Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-VA02).  It’s even more pathetic when you consider that Kiggans won’t even hold a town hall meeting to hear directly from her constituents, answer their questions, etc. Gee, wonder why she won’t do that??? Maybe because her positions are indefensible, as are those of the Trump/MAGA Republican Party in general???

1.  Americans absolutely did NOT vote for “overwhelming change in November.” In fact, the election was very close: “Trump’s national popular vote lead is down to 1.6 points, and Harris could have won if she had done just a couple of points better in just a few states. Any argument that the 2024 election was a ‘landslide‘ is misleading. It relies on a combination of recency bias and using the wrong measuring sticks.”
2. To the extent Americans voted for change, many (most?) wanted lower prices and a stronger economy. It’s still early, of course, but after a month of Trump’s presidency, prices are HIGHER and the economy is most definitely NOT stronger – quite the contrary, with inflation picking up and the next few jobs reports quite likely to be ugly.
3. On the claim that “illegal crossings at our southern border have dropped by 93%,” Kiggans is parroting the Trump administration’s unverified claim. According to a PolitiFact fact check, ” illegal immigration has generally been dropping since March 2024. And it dropped significantly after June, when Biden implemented a policy limiting people’s ability to apply for asylum at the southwest border. For example, there were more than 137,000 encounters at the southern border in March 2024 compared to more than 47,000 in December.” All in all, PolitiFact finds “a 60 percent drop, not a 95 percent drop as the White House claimed in its Instagram post,” while noting, “Illegal immigration ebbs and flows, so it’s unclear how long any drop will last.”
4.  In no way/shape/form are “we” (whoever “we” are) “actively working on reducing government spending and streamlining operations.” Instead, what’s going on is a full-fledged assault on the federal government by Trump, Musk, “DOGE,” etc. Also, the US House is trying to push through a massive tax giveaway to the wealthy, one that will explode the deficit and debt. So…nope, Kiggans is not correct here either.
5.  It’s a WILD lie to claim that the economy was “in shambles” when it was “handed to us by the Biden administration.” Unless you consider near-50-year-low unemployment rates and <3% inflation to be “in shambles.” Again, Kiggans is full of it.

Bottom line: don’t ever believe a word that Jen Kiggans says about anything, and make sure that in November 2026, she’s replaced by a Democrat!
