Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA10), on CNN’s “State of the Union” this morning, nails it:

“While President Trump focuses on delivering tax breaks to the wealthiest corporations and slashing Medicaid, the healthcare lifeline for tens of millions, House Republicans are spending time voting on whether to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America…This is not what the American people elected us to do.”

• Also: “The reality is, they are trying to take away people’s access to care…”
• And: “I couldn’t help notice too that…DHS mentioned they’re going to go after members of Congress as well. And you know, I just look at this and I say, as a member of Congress, if I’m going to be put behind bars for trying to stand up for the constitutional rights of my constituents, for standing up for civil liberties, like bring it on.”
