Kaine for Senate Makes First Wave of Key Campaign Team Appointments
RICHMOND – Today, former Governor Tim Kaine announced the first wave of key appointments to his campaign team for U.S. Senator from Virginia.
“It is my pleasure to welcome this incredibly talented and dedicated group of individuals to my team,” said Kaine. “The stakes of this election could not be higher and that’s why I’ve brought on board individuals who will help me take my message of job creation, fiscal responsibility and civility across the Commonwealth. With this experienced team, I look forward to running a campaign for the U.S. Senate that every Virginian can be proud of.”

Jenny Nadicksbernd, Director of Finance
Jenny Nadicksbernd served as Kaine’s Northern Virginia Finance Director from 2002-2005 for his successful gubernatorial campaign. In 2006, she went to work for Mark Warner’s leadership PAC, Forward Together, as his Virginia Finance Director, and then went on to serve as Warner’s Virginia Finance Director for his successful 2008 Senate campaign.
Brandi Hoffine, Press Secretary
Brandi Hoffine joins the campaign from the Democratic National Committee where she served as Deputy National Press Secretary since 2009. During the 2008 presidential election, Hoffine served as a member of the Obama for America and DNC joint rapid response team. Prior to that, she worked in political research.
Marc Cheatham, Director of Scheduling
Marc Cheatham served as Kaine’s Director of Constituent Services and Senior Assistant to the Governor for Policy with a focus on housing, commerce and trade, and public safety. Most recently, Cheatham was Kaine’s Traveling Assistant at the DNC. He is also a former Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.
Marcus Jadotte & Sharon White, Potomac Waves, Specialty Media Consultants
Potomac Waves specializes in African-American and Latino radio advertising for federal, state and local campaigns, national political campaign committees and national issue advocacy projects. In 2009, they produced African-American radio ads for Terry McAuliffe’s gubernatorial primary campaign, helping him win the third congressional district. They’ve also served as specialty media consultants to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
David Eichenbaum & Karl Struble, Media Consultants
Struble Eichenbaum Communications is one of the nation’s top media firms with a reputation for winning tough races. Eichenbaum and Struble helped elect Kaine Lt. Governor in 2001 and Governor in 2005, as well as helping to elect Governor Steve Beshear in Kentucky, Governor – and now Senator – Joe Manchin in West Virginia, Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell of Washington State, Tim Johnson of South Dakota and Mark Pryor of Arkansas, among others.
Mo Elleithee, Senior Advisor
Mo Elleithee is a long-time veteran of Virginia campaigns. He served as Communications Director for Kaine’s 2005 campaign for Governor and Press Secretary for Mark Warner’s 2001 campaign for Governor. In 2006, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee hired Elleithee to run its independent expenditure campaign against then-Senator George Allen, and in 2007 he was a communications strategist for the Democratic Party of Virginia in its successful effort to win back the Virginia Senate. He is a founding partner of Hilltop Public Solutions, a Washington, DC-based public affairs and political consulting firm. From 2007-08, he served as senior spokesman and traveling press secretary for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
Peter Brodnitz, Director of Polling
Pete Brodnitz is a Principal at the Benenson Strategy Group. Brodnitz has worked with Kaine since his 2001 run for Lt. Governor. In 2007, Brodnitz was named Pollster of the Year, the industry’s top honor, for his work on the upset victories in Virginia of Governor Kaine, in 2005, and Senator Jim Webb, in 2006. In addition to his work for Kaine and Webb, Brodnitz has advised other successful Virginia candidates, including Tom Perriello in 2008 and helping win back the Virginia Senate for Democrats in 2007, advising two of the four Democratic candidates who won.
