Major Anti-LGBTQ Donor Gives Massive Donation to VA Republican Delegate
After failing to make the ballot, Del. Nick Freitas launched a write-in campaign in a last-ditch effort to win reelection in his deeply conservative district. Now, it seems Roy Moore’s #1 donor and anti-LGBTQ bankroller Dick Uihlein is attempting to come to his rescue with a $500,000 donation to fund Freitas’ write-in bid. To make matters even worse, Freitas is in turn spreading the money across the state in attempts to help other anti-equality candidates win re-election.

In 2017, Uihlein donated more than $100,000 to Roy Moore’s failed U.S. Senate bid, including at least $50,000 after the Washington Post allegations were made public.
Chicago Tribune: “Federal election records show Uihlein first gave the pro-Moore PAC $50,000 on Sept. 8. That’s prior to The Washington Post’s Nov. 9 report on Moore, and prior to Moore defeating appointed Sen. Luther Strange in a runoff for the GOP nomination on Sept. 26. Uihlein gave the PAC another $50,000 on Nov. 22, after the allegations were raised. The Daily Beast first reported on the new pro-Moore super PAC filings with the Federal Election Commission.”
Uihlein donated nearly $350,000 to an anti-LGBTQ extremist group that said transgender people suffer from a mental illness:
In 2017, Uihlein donated $343,000 to The Madison Project, Inc.
Madison Project Website: “As early as next week, the Senate plans to reintroduce the deceptively named Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), S.815, which essentially invites lawsuits on private employers who refuse to accommodate the subjective and transitory behavior of various “gender identities” – among them transsexuals and transvestites. For the purpose of the bill, the term “gender identity” refers to “the gender-related identity, appearance, or mannerisms or other gender-related characteristics of an individual, with or without regard to the individual’s designated sex at birth.” Most egregiously, the leftists, who refer to this steaming pile as the next Civil Rights Act, are implicitly comparing African Americans to the aforementioned groups. They are creating a protected class for people who suffer from a mental illness and think they are the opposite gender.”
Uihlein has also been a major funder of an anti-transgender group that sought to prohibit transgender children from using the facilities that align with their gender identity.
Chicago Tribune: “That agreement, in turn, led to flak from parents and a local church at board meetings, as well as a lawsuit against the district. Eventually, a slate of three candidates emerged — newcomers Ralph Bonatz, Katherine David and Jean Forrest — calling themselves Parents With Purpose. Along with other issues, such as opposing tax increases and calling for better community representation, the group has pledged to “usher in change” by providing “reasonable accommodations” but ending locker room and restroom access for students of the opposite biological sex. Their campaign has even drawn financial support from Richard Uihlein of Lake Forest, who has donated millions to conservative candidates and causes.”
