Great work by Sen. Chap Petersen and Del.David Bulova for getting SB843 — “requiring the Pickett Road Tank Farm to come up to State Code requirements (or shut down)” — passed, and also in thwarting our wonderful governor’s efforts (not to mention “some very dubious legal advice from the AG’s office”) to gut the legislation.
As Joe Biden might say, this is a big frackin’ deal in terms of the environmental concerns in the communities along the Fairfax County/ City of Fairfax border. Fortunately for the people who live there, Sen. Petersen and Del. Bulova didn’t give up and got this one done. Nice job, guys!
