George Allen: Senator for Big Oil, NOT for Virginia

In addition to the video, DPVA points out the following:

Allen, who was fired by Virginia voters in 2006 and has since become a “consultant” (read: beltway influence peddler) for oil and gas companies, has received nearly $500,000 in campaign contributions from that industry throughout his political career.

He voted repeatedly as a member of the U.S. Senate to protect tax handouts for oil and gas companies and has given every indication throughout his current campaign that he plans to pick up right where he left off as a Senator for big oil and gas and not the people of Virginia.

As he shills for taxpayer handouts for big oil and gas, Allen has even made a habit of repeatedly mocking clean and renewable sources of energy, including wind and solar, which create jobs and increase American energy independence.

Personally, I’d say we should defeat Allen for Senate, then send him back to being a shameless shill for Big Oil and Big Coal, then defeat him there as well. Sound like a plan? 🙂
