NBC reporter Chuck Todd really presses Gov. McDonnell here on his ethics scandals and how they might have impacted the 2013 Virginia governor’s race, and McDonnell just dodges and weaves. In short, McDonnell blames the government shutdown and lack of money for Cuccinelli’s loss, NOT his own ethics issues. McDonnell also claims he’s “not focusing on this,” which is kind of hard to believe, given that he could be indicted (or not) any day now. Fascinating.
