Video: Around 740 Vote on Night #1 of Arlington County Board Democratic Caucus

2

I was told that around 800-1,000 *(UPDATE 9 am Friday: I’m now told it was around 740) people turned out for the first night of voting (you can also vote Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm at Kenmore Middle School) in the 2014 Arlington Democratic County Board Caucus at the Key Elementary School. Candidates are Alan Howze, Peter Fallon and Cord Thomas. My endorsements were/are Howze #1 and Fallon #2 (you can vote for more than one candidate, since Arlington Democrats are using Instant Runoff Voting this election). Here’s some video of the room, and also of State Senator Adam Ebbin – now a Democratic candidate for Congress in Virginia’s 8th Congressional District – and Arlington County School Board candidate Barbara Kanninen. I also had a chance to chat with Howze and Fallon, Del. Patrick Hope (an announced candidate for Congress), Arlington County Board member Walter Tejada (a potential candidate for Congress), Bruce Shuttleworth (an announced candidate for Congress), Arlington County Board member Mary Hynes (not a rumored or announced candidate for Congress – amazing, huh? LOL), former Tim Kaine senior advisor Larry Roberts (ditto), Arlington County Democratic Committee Chair Kip Malinosky (ditto), and numerous others – no video of them, sad to say. 😉

P.S. Announced or potential 8th CD candidates who apparently were NOT there last night included: Don Beyer, Mark Sickles, Charniele Herring, Alfonso Lopez, Bill Euille, Mark Levine, Bob Witeck, Scott Surovell and Lavern Chatman. We’ll see if any/all of them are there tomorrow. [UPDATE: I’m told that Don Beyer was there for a while shaking hands.]
