There’s a real ass-kicking editorial in today’s WashPost that attacks VA Republicans for their opposition to Medicaid expansion; lowkell included it in the morning news headlines:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/…
Fairfax County released a three-page memo filled with arguments of why Medicaid expansion is necessary:
http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/h…
Here’s another point: VA Republicans acknowledge the feds will bear 100% of the cost of expanded Medicaid for three years, but, they whine about “we can’t trust the feds to keep the money flowing.” Two points:
1. Under the ACA, the state share will rise to no more than 10% by 2020.
2. VA accepts over $1 BILLION in federal money each year for roads, airports, ports, schools, law enforcement, state parks, and on and on and on — and we don’t hear the GOP whining about the continuity of that money.
So — read the WashPost editorial, read the Fairfax County document and get busy writing letters to editors and calling your Republican state representatives.
