E.W. Jackson: “Coming Out Day” is “reminiscent of the communist cells established to keep everyone in line”

Another day…more insanity and bigotry from the 2013 Virginia Republican nominee for Lt. Governor.

You may be aware of the fact that this Sunday, October 11 is “Coming Out Day.” Of course this is the day when persons with same-sex attractions or who assert their gender is different than the one they were born with, are encouraged to make it public.

We cannot and do not want to control what people do with their private lives. However, this is not a private occasion. It is an attempt to continue the fundamental transformation of American culture. They are not restricting these activities to “gay” bars and other social venues frequented by homosexual activists. Rather they are bringing this activity to public schools, colleges, businesses and events attended by families. Disneyland in Southern California participates in “Gay Days Anaheim” during the first week of October each year, when 35,000 LGBT activists descend on the noted resort and theme park. Disney World celebrates “Gay Days Orlando” in June, declared by President Obama to be Gay Pride Month.

Christians in work places all over America will be confronted by in-your-face, aggressive homosexual activists who are asking them to wear a pink triangle or the color purple to show their solidarity with the “Gay Rights Movement.” We have a First Amendment which guarantees the right of free expression to everyone, including those with whom we disagree. The “sexual rights” cabal is the cultural symbol of the kind of society, the left and the Democrat Party want to force on us. As much as I disagree with them, I defend their right to speak freely.

What we have here, however, is not free speech. It is bullying and intimidation. When a school principal or teacher “invites” children to participate in “Coming Out Day” by wearing a pink triangle or a certain color, they are singling out those who don’t participate as bigots. The idea here is, “If you want to fit in, join in. Even your teacher says so.” These are insidious activities and public schools should not be participating in such. This is one of the reasons why many public schools are not producing quality education. Left wing unions, in concert with gay rights activists, are using the schools as tools of social indoctrination rather than quality education.

The same thing is happening in corporate America. Companies all over the country are celebrating “Coming Out Day,” and CEOs or other persons in supervisory roles are “inviting” employees to demonstrate their support by wearing purple. That means Christian employees in such businesses are made to feel like pariahs if they refuse. It is the height of arrogance and “insensitivity” – one of the left’s favorite words – to ignore the fact that Christian Americans believe that homosexuality is sinful. Employees of such companies are not hired to support the gay rights movement, which is a highly political and a part of the Democrat Party. It raises the question, whether these companies are trying to hire only people who are Democrats and liberals. Those who do not share the liberal perspective on same-sex attractions may be denied employment, find themselves in a hostile work environment, or denied raises and promotions.

This is an urgent matter. What is happening is an effort by a very radical movement to silence those who don’t agree with them. It is reminiscent of the communist cells established to keep everyone in line in factories, schools and neighborhoods. As I travel, many people say to me, “They are trying to turn our country into Sodom and Gomorrah.” Well, we are not going to allow that to happen.

If you or someone you know has a child in public school being asked to celebrate “Coming Out Day,” the appropriate person must lodge a complaint with the teacher, principal and school board. We must push back and push back hard, or we will find ourselves increasingly marginalized while the country descends into depravity. I recently read an article in Salon Magazine by a pedophile who was making the case that being a pedophile does not make you a monster. “It’s just a ‘sexual orientation,'” he argued. This push to sexualize everything and everyone, including our children, will never stop unless we stand against it.

You may not have heard anything about homosexual activism in your public schools, but it may be happening under the radar. Ask questions of your children and teachers. You may be shocked by what you learn.

If you or someone you know works at a business where memos from the CEO or other powerful persons “invite” employees to participate in “Coming Out Day” or some other “gay” celebration, that is a subtle form of coercion. The message is clear – this is what the boss expects. Write to the company president. Tell others what that company is doing. Post it on Facebook and Twitter. Employees are in a difficult position. If they complain, they will probably lose their jobs. Some may choose to do that, but we need to complain for them.

While homosexual activists are coming out of the closet, Christians are being driven into the closet. Christian values built this nation, held together families, and gave us a clear moral code. Leftists want all of that shoved into the closet and kept within the four walls of the sanctuary. It seems that everything is acceptable, except the holiness and righteousness of God. That is now offensive. In the words of the prophet Isaiah, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!” (Isaiah 5:20-21)

No one should lose a job or business because they don’t agree with homosexual activists. Christians have rights too. We need to stand up for our rights. We need Christians to awaken.
