Here are a few national and Virginia news headlines, political and otherwise, for Thursday, December 3. As for the “thoughts and prayers” crowd among politicians, the issue is that they could actually DO SOMETHING about this situation, not just offer “thoughts and prayers,” but they don’t because they are either terrified of the NRA or gun nuts themselves. As Andy Parker says: “So sick of ‘thoughts and prayers’ from sanctimonious politicians. It’s not going to bring back Alison or any of victims of senseless gun violence. Only action will.”
- Two dead suspects named after mass shooting that killed 14 at Calif. office party (“Syed Rizwan Farook 28, a U.S.-born county health inspector, and Tashfeen Malik, 27, who was said to be his wife or girlfriend, were killed in the San Bernardino shootout, authorities said. Officials were still trying to determine a motive and have not ruled out terrorism.”)

- The BBC’s Distressingly Accurate Intro To The San Bernardino Shooting (“Just another day in the United States of America, another day of gunfire, panic, and fear.” Yep, our country is truly “exceptional” in this respect. Ugh.))
