For months, Comstock has been hiding from the press and from her constituents, refusing to admit publicly that she will be supporting and voting for Donald Trump. As recently as July 4th, Comstock stated that Trump needed to “earn” her vote.
But with all of the outrageous and offensive things that Donald Trump has done and said up until now, voters in the 10th district are asking, “What could Donald Trump possibly do that would make Comstock think that he is the right choice for our country?”
As a vulnerable incumbent facing a difficult re-election campaign in an increasingly diverse, moderate district, the Congresswoman can no longer have it both ways. It’s time for Congresswoman Comstock to admit that she will be voting for Donald Trump because they share the same positions on key issues.
“Barbara Comstock is stuck between Trump and a hard place. She can hide from the Trump Convention, from the press, and from her constituents, but she cannot hide the divisive agenda she shares with Donald Trump,” said LuAnn Bennett spokesman Robert Howard. “The Trump-Comstock agenda, which includes opposition to equal pay for women and families, demeaning immigrants, and restricting a woman’s right to choose, is out of touch with Northern Virginia.”
