Video: Overflow Crowd at Arlington County Dems Meeting Hears Legislative Report, Candidate Announcements

0

The anti-Trump energy in Virginia continues, with an overflow/standing-room-only crowd tonight at the Arlington County Democratic Committee (ACDC) meeting listening to a legislative report from the Arlington delegation in Richmond (Senators Adam Ebbin, Barbara Favola; Delegates Mark Levine, Rip Sullivan, Alfonso Lopez) as well as candidate announcements for County Board (Erik Gutshall, Vivek Patil, Kim Klingler) and School Board (Monique O’Grady). In addition, School Board Chair Nancy Van Doren received a standing ovation for the statement she read about Arlington schools being a safe, welcoming place with zero tolerance for bigotry or bullying. And Arlington County Board member Jay Fisette delivered an emotional statement expressing gratitude to Arlington Democrats for being open/welcoming and inclusive to him when he moved to Arlington (and ever since), and declaring that if ACDC is strong, Arlington will be strong; if ACDC is weak, Arlington will be weak. Great stuff; Arlington Democrats rock and are hell-bent on kicking some serious butt in 2017!
