How can someone like Sam Brownback have been elected governor of a state (Kansas, which he trashed), and how can this nut be President Trump’s nominee for Ambassador At Large For International Religious Freedom??? What has this country come to? Thanks to Sen. Tim Kaine for pressing Brownback on a very simple question (“Is there any circumstance under which religious freedom can justify criminalizing, imprisoning, or executing people based on their LGBT status?”), even if Brownback refused to give a simple yes-or-no answer.
