RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia House Democratic Caucus tonight unanimously re-elected its caucus leadership and affirmed their unanimous commitment to expanding access to affordable health care for nearly 400,000 Virginians.
The positions re-elected were:
Democratic Leader: Delegate David J. Toscano
Caucus Chair: Delegate Charniele Herring
Vice Chair for Operations and Policy: Delegate Jeion Ward
Vice Chair for Outreach: Delegate Eileen Filler-Corn
Secretary: Delegate Marcia Price
Treasurer: Delegate Betsy Carr
Sergeant-At-Arms: Delegate Delores McQuinn
Additionally, Delegate-elect Elizabeth Guzman was previously elected by the freshman class to serve as the freshman representative on the leadership team.
“We are honored and humbled by the unanimous vote tonight to continue to lead our Democratic Caucus,” said Toscano and Herring. “Our caucus is 100 percent united in our fight to expand Medicaid in Virginia, which would give nearly 400,000 people access to affordable health care.
“We also congratulate Delegate-elect Dawn Adams on her victory after her recount today in Richmond. We will continue our fight for a just result in Delegate-elect Shelly Simonds’ race and for a new election in Joshua Cole’s race in HD-28.” |
