I didn’t watch the entire 9th CD Democratic forum this morning, but I watched a good chunk of it. And from what I saw, it looks like we have two articulate, informed, progressive candidates (Anthony Flaccavento and Justin Santopietro) vying to take on utterly godawful Rep. Morgan Griffith (R). It’s a very “red” district, but still, I’m looking forward to one of these two candidates really taking it to science-denying embarrassment Griffith this coming summer/fall.
P.S. Nice job by Sen. Creigh Deeds moderating the forum. Also, thanks to Justin Santopietro for the shoutout, even if it was to call my blog post about the Crosstab’s current probabilities of Democratic wins in various CDs (1.4% in VA-09) “dumb.” Of course, basically every single political analyst in the country (Cook, Sabato, etc.) has VA-09 as “Safe R,” but let’s hope that Santopietro’s smarter than literally everyone else in the country on this. 😉
