Check out the video of Rep. Scott Taylor (R-VA02) rallying for Matt Gaetz last night in Florida. Who is Matt Gaetz? Check this out:
“In January 2018, Gaetz invited alt-right activist Chuck Johnson to attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address…Johnson has also claimed that the number of Holocaust victims is exaggerated and that gas chambers may not have been used, common forms of Holocaust denial…In April 2018, Gaetz received backlash for his association with controversial political consultant Roger Stone. This friendship drew scrutiny after Stone made comments about the recent death of First Lady Barbara Bush. In an appearance on the conspiratorial site InfoWars, Stone called Bush a ‘mean-spirited, vindictive, drunk.’ Prior to the incident, Gaetz referred to Stone as ‘the brightest political mind in America’ and posted a selfie with him on his personal Twitter account.”
Absolutely disgusting, yet Taylor travels to Florida to rally for this nutjob? Kind of says it all about Taylor. So…VA-02 voters, on November 6, make sure that you tell Taylor what you think of him and his far-right friends by voting for Democrat Elaine Luria instead.
From the Elaine Luria for Congress campaign:
Congressman Taylor forgoes August recess with constituents to campaign in Florida
VIRGINIA BEACH – Today, Elaine Luria condemned Congressman Taylor’s decision to abandon his constituents during August recess to campaign with Donald Trump Jr. and Congressman Matt Gaetz in Niceville, Florida.
“If Representative Taylor would rather campaign with extremist politicians in Florida than answer his constituents in Coastal Virginia, I would be happy to relieve him of his post.” said Commander Elaine Luria.
The rally was in support of Congressman Matt Gaetz, who invited a Holocaust denier to the State of the Union and solicited legislation ideas from the alt-right corners of Reddit. It has been over 500 days since Taylor’s last town hall, where he was beset by dissatisfied constituents. He has largely avoided public appearances since.
While Congressman Scott Taylor was in Florida, promoting the most extreme members of his party, Elaine Luria spent Wednesday speaking with the Kiwanis Club of Virginia Beach, discussing attainable housing in Coastal Virginia, and meeting with constituents to hear their priorities and concerns.
