See below for the press conference this morning in which a representative for the family of Bijan Ghaisar, shot and killed for absolutely no good reason two “out-of-control and over-aggressive” U.S. Park Police officers, and the “downright cruel” manner in which the family has been treated since Bijan was shot and killed, announced that they are filing a $25 million wrongful death suit against the U.S. government. As the family’s representative said at the press conference, “what those two officers did was illegal…was unconstitutional…what the federal government continues to do defies all reasonable explanation.” Also, good question: “What is the U.S. Park Police [and the Dept. of Justice] hiding from the family and the public?”
