With 1 1/2 Weeks to Go, Dave Brat Has No Public Events Calendar. Here’s a Peek at What He Doesn’t Want You to Know.

1

You know how Rep. Dave Brat (R-VA07) pretends to be a tough guy, but then does everything he can to avoid women in his “grill,” holding town halls (let alone ones actually hosted by him!), keeping “open houses” actually…openshaking hands with his constituents, etc? Another case in point: check out the guy’s campaign website and see if you can find any listing of events. Nothing as far as I can tell. Also see his campaign Facebook page’s events section, where the last event listed is from July 27 – three months ago!

So yeah, Brat may talk like a tough guy, but when it comes down to it, he avoids his constituents – at least in settings he doesn’t tightly control and that aren’t carefully staged – like the plague. In short, Brat’s basically sneaking around the district, taking photos and saying he’s hosting “public events,” when in fact they’re nothing of the sort because Brat is worried people will ask him questions or otherwise get in his “grill.” In stark contrast, Abigail Spanberger has a public calendar of events that anyone can attend, speak with her, and share their concerns. Huge contrast.

Fortunately, a constituent of Brat’s contacted his campaign and got the following events information for the next week. See below for that information (click to enlarge), which Dave Brat himself wants to make as hard as possible for people to know about, even though he’s a public official running for reelection in a tight contest in just 1 1/2 weeks…
