BREAKING: In a big win for voting rights in Virginia, Federal Court has ordered Virginia to make put final state House map on web and ordered the State to “immediately implement” the map “to ensure that the 2019 Virginia House of Delegates elections will proceed as scheduled.”

A federal court has adopted a new map for the Virginia House of Delegates that redraws racially gerrymandered districts.@marceelias heads to the Supreme Court next month to make sure the map is in place for elections this fall.

House Democratic Caucus Statement on Redistricting Order
Richmond (February 14, 2019) – House Democratic Leader Eileen Filler-Corn and Caucus Chair Charniele Herring released the following statement in response to the court order to adopt the proposed new map for this year’s House of Delegates elections:
“Every step of the remedial redistricting process brings us closer to constitutional maps for this year. These new maps are in the best interest of Virginia voters.”
