It seems like there are an almost infinite number of campaign kickoffs these days, just in Fairfax County alone. I attended one earlier today, for Fairfax County Board Chair candidate Alicia Plerhoples, but there were a bunch more that took place this weekend. See below for a sampling, courtesy of Del. Mark Keam, Del. Eileen Filler-Corn, and Fairfax County School Board member Ilryong Moon. Candidates include Dalia Palchik for Fairfax County Board of Supervisors (Providence District); Elaine Tholen for  Dranesville District Representative on the Fairfax County School Board; Jung Byun for Fairfax County School Board, Providence District; and Ricardy Anderson for Fairfax County School Board, Mason District. I’m happy to add more; if you’re aware of any that I missed and think should be included, just let me know!

Really excited and happy for my friend Elaine Tholen as she launches her campaign to serve as next Dranesville District Representative on Fairfax County School Board!

As current school board members Pat Hynes and Janie Strauss said, Elaine is fully qualified, experienced, and ready to hit the ground running on Day One!

I was pleased to attend Jung Byun ’s kick off today. She is an impressive young candidate with a passion to make a difference in our schools. She announced her candidacy for school board in Providence District this afternoon. Always good to see my friends and colleagues in the General Assembly: Chap Petersen Mark Keam and Marcus Simon as well as Ilryong Moon and Ryan McElveen on the school board.

A long day attending many campaign kick-offs: starting with Ricardy Anderson running for Mason District School Board, Elaine Tholen for Dranesville District School Board, Jung Byun for Providence District School Board, and finally Kathy Smith running for re-election for Sully District Supervisor. Another full day of campaign events to attend tomorrow.
