Eastern District Court of Virginia Rules in Favor of Gavin Grimm, Against Gloucester County, VA School Board

0

See below for the Eastern District of Virginia court ruling on the Gavin Grimm discrimination case – good news! FCPS Pride writes:

“Gavin Grimm won his case! The court ruling is just out. The Eastern District of Virginia court issued a ruling that Gloucester County School Board discriminated against Gavin on both Title IX and constitutional grounds by not allowing him to use the boys’ restroom in high school. It further ruled that the school system must update his transcripts to reflect his male gender. Gloucester has indicated in the past that they would appeal such a ruling, but we shall see. More will be posted when the Washington Post publishes a story. This is only the latest in a series of perhaps a dozen cases in U.S. District Courts, appeals courts, and state courts in other cases that affirm that trans students are valued members of society and our school communities.”
