I don’t agree with Chaz that Trump is likely to be reelected – although he certainly *could* be reelected, and we’d better make damn sure that doesn’t happen! – but I *do* agree with the rest of the following analysis. And what if Trump does *not* get reelected? I’d argue that the situation will be much tougher for Virginia Democrats, but honestly I’d trade that in a heartbeat for getting Trump the hell out of the White House. Also, we’re going to find out after Trump’s gone to what extent the surge of Democratic activism that we saw at the state/local levels here in Virginia starting in early 2017 continues, fizzles out, or what. Let’s just hope we don’t go back to the “bad ol’ days” (e.g., 2009, 2010, 2014).
