See below for some reaction to Trump’s self-indulgent photo-op in Virginia today, even as “our doctors are struggling with dwindling supplies and equipment,” as the Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) correctly puts it. Of course, the crew of the USNS Comfort deserves our thanks, appreciation and support. But as DPVA explains, Trump’s not helping matters any, and of course doctors “need help, not photo-ops.” As Sen. Scott Surovell tweets:
“Surprised there’s no ‘Mission Accomplished’ banner. Heckuva job, Brownie…uh, I mean Donnie.”
Actually, Trump’s so horrible, I’d probably even take Dubya back at this point. Yes, that’s how bad things are…
P.S. Also see below for Navy veteran, Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA02) – who represents parts of Norfolk in the U.S. House of Representatives – there “to bid fair winds and following seas to USNS Comfort, her crew, and medical personnel as they head to NYC.”
