So, at this point (12/28), in Virginia we’re at 336,175 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 17,605 hospitalizations and 4,861 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 2,599 (+0.8%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 3,999 (+1.2%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 57 (+0.3%), which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 84 (+0.5%). Deaths are reported +7, compared to +14 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 4,168,673 (up 39,874 from yesterday).
