So, at this point (12/8), in Virginia we’re at 262,730 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 15,467 hospitalizations and 4,260 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 3,860 (+1.5%) in the latest statistics, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 3,817 (+1.5%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 111 (+0.7%), which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 61 (+0.4%). Deaths are reported +52, compared to +8 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 3,545,869 (up 23,817 from yesterday).
