Wednesday (12/9) Virginia Data on COVID-19: 1-Day (4,398), 2-Day (8,258), 3-Day (12,075), 10-Day (31,186) New Cases All Hit Record Highs

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (12/9), in Virginia we’re at 267,128 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 15,592 hospitalizations and 4,281 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 4,398 (+1.7%) in the latest statistics, which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 3,860 (+1.5%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 125 (+0.8%), which is a slightly faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 111 (+0.7%).  Deaths are reported +21, compared to +52 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 3,573,299 (up 27,430 from yesterday).
