So, at this point (1/24), in Virginia we’re at 472,447 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 20,712 hospitalizations and 6,078 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 3,792 (+0.8%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 4,904 (+1.1%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 58 (+0.3%), which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 110 (+0.5%). Deaths are reported -1, compared to +77 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,007,050 (up 29,079 from yesterday).
