So, at this point (1/21), in Virginia we’re at 459,604 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 20,405 hospitalizations and 5,940 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 4,013 (+0.9%) in the latest statistics, which is a slightly slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 4,515 (+1.0%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 174 (+0.9%), which is a slightly faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 165 (+0.8%). Deaths are reported +79, compared to +63 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 4,923,610 (up 24,529 from yesterday).
