So, at this point (1/6), in Virginia we’re at 377,300 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 18,636 hospitalizations and 5,226 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 5,387 (+1.5%) in the latest statistics, which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 4,377 (+1.2%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 110 (+0.6%), which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 139 (+0.8%). Deaths are reported +35, compared to +59 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 4,428,211 (up 23,570 from yesterday).
