Virginia DNC Members, Biden Delegates, and Biden Harris Electors Endorse Delegate Hala Ayala for Lieutenant Governor

Ayala’s support from grassroots activists and campaign volunteers across the Commonwealth demonstrates a powerful campaign with over 50 endorsers.

WOODBRIDGE VA — Delegate Hala Ayala’s campaign for Virginia Lieutenant Governor today announced that several members of the DNC Delegation from Virginia, and Biden Harris electors from the Commonwealth have endorsed her campaign for Lieutenant Governor.

“Virginia played a crucial role in delivering the Presidency to Joe Biden and rebuking the hate and bigotry of Trump,” said Delegate Hala Ayala. “These activists worked tirelessly to make this happen and I am so honored to have their support. They understand that we need leaders who will build bridges and unite our Commonwealth and I can’t wait to work with them on issues that matter most to Virginians.”

Here is what the endorsers had to say:

“I’ve known Hala Ayala for many years, and I am so proud to endorse her candidacy for Lieutenant Governor,” said Cragg Hines, Biden-Harris Elector. “Hala has a deep understanding of the issues that face our Commonwealth and progressive ideas about how to address them. Hala will bring new leadership and representation to Richmond and serve all Virginians with honor.”

“I am so proud to endorse Delegate Hala Ayala,” said Carole Lieber, 8th Congressional District Biden National Delegate. “In my decades as a Democratic activist, Hala is one of the most dedicated, responsive, and compassionate leaders I have ever seen. We need her leadership in Richmond and I am hopeful you will join me in supporting her campaign for Lieutenant Governor.”

“I have had the pleasure of knowing Delegate Ayala for 10 years, and during that time, she has proven herself a true leader and activist of and for the people,” said Terron Sims, II, Vice Chair for DNC Veterans and Military Families Council. “Having grown up in eastern Prince William County myself, I am proud to see someone homegrown, such as Hala, stepping up as leaders do. Virginia is good, but it will be better with Hala Ayala as our next Lieutenant Governor.”

“I am so proud to endorse my friend, Hala Ayala, for Lieutenant Governor. For over a decade, Hala has been a women’s rights advocate and our movement would not be where it is without her,” said Lisa Sales, Women’s Rights Advocate and At-Large Biden National Delegate. “Her work to make Virginia the 38th state to ratify the ERA has changed our Commonwealth for the good. It’s time to elect the first female Lieutenant Governor of Virginia and that woman should be Hala Ayala.”

“I am proud to endorse Delegate Hala Ayala for Lieutenant Governor,” said Jeffery Person, At Large Biden National Delegate. “Hala has championed issues that matter to all Virginians, like access to affordable health care, criminal justice reform and protecting the environment. Hala will bring her proven track record to Richmond and be a voice for the voiceless as the first Afro-Latina Lieutenant Governor Of Virginia.”

“As a national security specialist, I know firsthand how important it is to have leaders who understand the intricacies of national and cyber security and how it impacts our Commonwealth,” said Amanda Linton, Women for Biden State Leader and At-Large Biden Delegate. “Hala Ayala’s cyber security expertise is much needed in our Commonwealth and I know she will bring her decades of experience to Richmond and lead with compassion and strength. I am proud to endorse her campaign for Lieutenant Governor.”

“I am so proud to call Delegate Hala Ayala a fellow activist and friend,” said Monica Hutchinson, Henrico County Community Leader and At Large Biden Delegate. “Hala’s advocacy on behalf of women and children has impacted thousands of lives here in Virginia and I know she will continue this good work as Lieutenant Governor. That is why I am proud to endorse her campaign.”

“Delegate Hala Ayala has been a tireless advocate for the LGBTQ+ community her entire career.  Her pro LGBTQ+ votes and support of repealing Marshall-Newman is highly commendable,“ said Charlie Conrad, Community Activist and Biden State Delegate. “I am proud to endorse her. Our Commonwealth needs more leaders like Hala who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get the work done to help all Virginians. I know Hala would be an incredible Lieutenant Governor and I am proud to endorse her.”

I hope you’ll join me in supporting her.”

“I am proud to endorse Delegate Hala Ayala for Lieutenant Governor,” said Dewita Soeharjono, AAPI Community Leader and Biden State Delegate. “We have made so much progress in our Commonwealth but we need leaders in Richmond who represent what Virginia can be.
