So, at this point (5/22), in Virginia we’re at 672,793 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 29,475 hospitalizations and 11,097 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases was 481 (+0.1%) in the latest statistics, the same rate of increase as yesterday’s +396 (+0.1%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 34 (+0.1%), a slightly slower rate of increase as yesterday’s +47 (+0.2%). Deaths are reported +23 compared to +6 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 7,341,899 (up 16,111 from yesterday).
