Earlier this week, VA Republican gubernatorial nominee Glenn Youngkin released a new ad, “Honest Work,” in which he talks about his college job loading trucks. The ad shows a picture of him in college, and then a picture of a forklift loading a truck. Youngkin then goes on to talk about the importance of “manufacturing things right here in Virginia.”
Manufactured right here in Virginia, eh? Well, it turns out the forklift image in Youngkin’s own ad wasn’t “manufactured” in Virginia and isn’t even of him. Instead, it’s a 2019 stock photo by a photographer (Khlong Laung) in Thailand. Apparently, Youngkin loves offshoring jobs so much that he did just that in his own ad – LOL!
