Virginia Voters Showcase Democratic Enthusiasm at Dozens of Events Across the Commonwealth

Thousands of Virginians Were Fired Up to Vote Early for Terry McAuliffe & Democratic Ticket at Weekend Events featuring First Lady Jill Biden, Stacey Abrams, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and More

MCLEAN, VA – Over the weekend, thousands of Virginians attended dozens of events across the Commonwealth and made it clear that they stand with Terry McAuliffe’s vision to move Virginia forward. Volunteers and supporters were fired up to see First Lady Jill Biden, Stacey Abrams, Keisha Lance Bottoms, and more, and to get out the vote for Terry McAuliffe and the Democratic ticket with just over two weeks to go until election day.

Terry was joined at the weekend’s events by thousands of supporters as well as First Lady Jill Biden, Stacey Abrams, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Virginia Democrats for grassroots events including canvass kick-offs, business tours, church visits, and Virginia’s first ever Sunday voting “Souls to the Polls” events. Democrats are getting fired up in this race, and Virginians are seeing it out across the Commonwealth.

Terry for Virginia held its biggest weekend of organizing to date – knocking on 100,000 doors and making 700,000 voter contacts across doors, calls and text messages. Terry for Virginia has now knocked on more than one million doors to date and is continuing to ramp up grassroots efforts as more and more Virginians get engaged in this race and show enthusiasm about electing the Democratic ticket in November.

Hundreds of thousands of Virginians have already cast their ballot in this critical election. For the first time ever, this year Virginians can vote early on Sundays. Hundreds of Virginians joined Terry and Stacey Abrams in Norfolk, and Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Mayor Levar Stoney in Richmond for Terry for Virginia’s “Souls to the Polls” events.

The weekend’s events followed up Terry for Virginia’s Friday announcement that the campaign has raised $45 million to date from more than 100,000 supporters. Those supporters come from all 133 of Virginia’s cities and counties, creating the largest grassroots movement of donors in Virginia history.
