Federal Judge Gives AG Jason Miyares Six Days to File Final Reply to Paul Goldman in Case Arguing for VA House of Delegates Elections This Year

Thanks to Activate Virginia for this excellent summary of where things currently stand in Paul Goldman’s lawsuit attempting to force elections for the Virginia House of Delegates this year. The latest is that Goldman yesterday filed a response to AG Miyares’ “new Motion to Dismiss in Goldman v. Brink et. al.”; and “Federal Judge David Novak has given the AG six days to file a final reply to Goldman.” For more background on this case, see Where Do Things Currently Stand on Possible 2022 Virginia House of Delegates Elections? Bottom line: it’s already mid-April, and we STILL don’t know if there will be new House of Delegates elections this year, or whether courts will even rule on the merits of the case. If there aren’t elections this year, then of course elections will be held normally, under new district lines, in 2023. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking…
