Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA02), speaking to “Deadline: White House,” responded to the question, “Is there any doubt in your mind that Donald Trump directed or participated in a conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding of Congress?” Luria’s response:
“There is no doubt in my mind. We’ve laid this out in multiple ways. I have read the testimony of some of these witnesses, but hearing them today, seeing Speaker Bowers’ conviction in the way he delivered his testimony, it reinforced to me that the former president, he tried to use his office and this fake plan, scheme, all of this, many levers, many people around the country in these swing states, to try to corrupt the results of the election, to deliver these slates of fake electors, to pressure the former vice president, and to change the outcome of an election to something different than what the American people voted for.”
Meanwhile, in stark contrast, Luria’s Republican opponent, Jennifer Kiggans, yesterday wouldn’t “specifically say whether she thinks Biden won in 2020.” As the Virginia Democrats correctly put it, Kiggans “is a danger to our Country and has no place in Congress.”
