Congresswoman Luria Releases Ad Highlighting Her Commitment to Gold Star Families
“Gold Star” is the Congresswoman’s Fourth Ad of the 2022 Cycle
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Congresswoman Elaine Luria (VA-02) launched her newest television ad today titled “Gold Star,” which features Kristen Fenty, a Gold Star Mother who worked closely with Congresswoman Luria to pass the bipartisan Gold Star Family Tax Relief Act and fix a loophole in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that raised taxes on the children of fallen soldiers.
“America’s Gold Star families made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and they deserved better than this undue burden placed on them,” Congresswoman Luria said. “I am proud to have worked with Gold Star Mothers from Coastal Virginia, Republicans, and Democrats to introduce and pass this legislation that repealed this tax on our Gold Star families.”
“Gold Star” is the second ad released by Congresswoman Luria this week. On Thursday, she released “When,” highlighting Jen Kiggans’ abortion extremism.
In June, the Congresswoman released “Oath,” highlighting the oath she took at 17 years before entering the U.S. Naval Academy. Last month, the Congresswoman released her second ad titled “More Horrific” and emphasized her continued service to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Congresswoman Luria served for 20 years as a Surface Warfare Officer and nuclear engineer deploying six times—twice forward-deployed on ships stationed in Japan—conducting operations in the Middle East and Western Pacific on destroyers, cruisers, and aircraft carriers.
Whether it was enforcing sanctions by boarding Iraqi oil smugglers in the Arabian Gulf, launching jets off the deck of the aircraft carrier in the Indian Ocean to simultaneously strike terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan, operating complex nuclear reactors, as second in command of a guided-missile cruiser, or in command of a combat-ready unit of 400 sailors, providing assault craft to support the U.S. Marine Corps: Congresswoman Luria never let politics get in the way of doing what was right and getting the job done.
After raising $1.88 million in the second quarter of 2022, Congresswoman Luria’s campaign has more than $4.3 million cash on hand going into the November election for Virginia’s Second Congressional District.
