See below for a press release from the Fairfax County Democratic Committee (FCDC) regarding more mistakes by the Youngkin administration regarding voting information, after wrong information was sent to Southwest Virginia voters. Perhaps, as FCDC Chair Bryan Graham states, “Instead of gallivanting across the country for election conspiracy theorists, Governor Youngkin should be in the state he was elected to serve in order to lead his Administration in fulfilling their duties to the people of the Commonwealth.” I know, what a concept!
Voters Sent Incorrect Voting Information by Youngkin Administration
State Board of Elections’ Second Voting Information Scandal Hits Fairfax County
FAIRFAX COUNTY – It was discovered today that the Virginia Department of Elections sent a mailer to all registered voters in the Town of Herndon with incorrect voting information for the 2022 Midterm Election. The mailer instructed voters in Herndon that their polling location had changed and that their precinct’s new voting place is located in the City of Fairfax, an entirely separate jurisdiction from Fairfax County. Speaking on the issue, Fairfax County Democratic Committee Chair Bryan Graham released the following statement:
“It is disappointing that the Party now in charge of administering our elections is so woefully incompetent at managing something as simple as a voter information mailer. Instead of gallivanting across the country for election conspiracy theorists, Governor Youngkin should be in the state he was elected to serve in order to lead his Administration in fulfilling their duties to the people of the Commonwealth.
“I am grateful for the fact that the Fairfax County Office of Elections and Electoral Board identified the problem quickly and are working to mitigate the issue.
”Commissioner Susan Beals and the Virginia Board of Elections must immediately send a correction notice to all 13,000+ registered voters in the Town of Herndon.”
Voters in the Town of Herndon are encouraged to check FairfaxVotes.org/MyBallot to confirm their polling location ahead of Election Day and download a sample ballot. The Town of Herndon is entirely within the 11th Congressional District.
This is the second incident this week as outlets across Virginia reported that voters in Southwest Virginia received a similar mailing with incorrect voting information.
