From Loudoun4All:
Loudoun4All Reiterates Call to Release LCPS internal report on Sexual Assault Incidents
“This is not a game or a political cause but a need for public discussion on solutions”.
Beginning in January 2022, Loudoun4All began calling for the release of the internal LCPS report on the sexual assaults that occurred in 2021. Further, we have asked for an independent review of the case and the issues around the assaults that involved Loudoun Loudoun County Public Schools, the Loudoun Courts, and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
As we did on February 12th 2022, Loudoun4All has continued to push for a non-political review of the facts to determine the best way to address the issues. We want to ensure that gaps in policies and safety are addressed for all students and that all parties are held accountable.
While groups like Fight for Schools have compared this to a game of chess, we do not believe that issues of sexual assault are games of any sort. Further, we continue to be troubled by the Governor’s outright lies about the Grand Jury findings. Various groups appear to be using these incidents for political purposes, while some politicians have ignored or refused to address the gaps identified, specifically within the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
To fully understand the facts around these cases and what could be done to avoid future harm, we once again urge that the LCSB release the internal report to the public. This will allow factually based discussions such that community partners can develop solutions.
