This past weekend was the start of Saturday voting, massively expanded satellite early voting, etc. – and the results were clear: huge turnout in deep-blue areas like Prince William County, Fairfax County, Henrico County, Norfolk, etc, etc. To see the statistics, check out VPAP (which has total early voting so far at 924,230, slightly below the same point in October 2025 (977,605), which of course was for an election for Governor/Lt. Governor/Attorney General/House of Delegates. Also, see below for some analysis, photos, etc. For instance, Virginia political analyst Sam Shirazi says:
- “Nearly 69K early votes cast this weekend in Virginia; 925K early votes right now; 6 more days left with final day of early voting on Saturday. Yes campaign will make gains in final days of early voting as satellites open; No [campaign] will hope for good turnout on Election Day in red areas”
- “The importance of satellites and weekend voting as illustrated in Prince William County; Over 7,300 votes on Saturday Previous high was 490; Almost 15 times more votes!”

Also from VPAP, here are a few more early voting numbers from this weekend:
- Alexandria: 1,545 voted early/in-person on Saturday, then another 427 on Sunday
- Arlington County: 4,366 voted early/in-person on Saturday.
- Chesterfield County: 3,393 voted early/in-person on Saturday; then another 1,495 on Sunday
- Fairfax County: 17,080 voted early/in-person on Saturday
- Henrico County: 1,425 voted early/in-person on Saturday
- Loudoun County: 5,649 voted early/in-person on Saturday
- Norfolk: 1,914 voted early/in-person on Saturday
- Prince William County: 7,303 voted early/in-person on Saturday, then another 2,739 on Sunday
- Richmond: 838 voted early/in-person on Saturday, then another 312 on Sunday
- Virginia Beach: 2,379 voted early/in-person on Saturday

- State Navigate‘s model estimates the early vote as running about 59.4% Democratic and 40.6% Republican – a large lead, obviously, for Democrats.

Meanwhile, some of the worst of the worst campaigned for the NO side…’nuff said here.

UPDATE 3:20 pm – See below for a press release from the YES campaign about “Super Saturday”:
Virginians Vote YES — Super Saturday Weekend Builds Momentum In The Finals Days
Richmond, Va. — This weekend, the YES Campaign activated Virginians to turn out in force for “Super Saturday” as 30 new satellite early voting locations opened statewide.
In one weekend alone, the YES Campaign held 40 canvass launches, activated 500 volunteers, and knocked over 60,000 doors across the Commonwealth.
Virginians joined a broad coalition of national, state, and local leaders on the ground and took action — launching canvasses, greeting voters at polling locations, and driving turnout in key regions including Northern Virginia, Richmond, Charlottesville, and beyond.
Among the leaders helping drive the effort were U.S. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, Lieutenant Governor Ghazala Hashmi, U.S. Senator Mark Warner, and U.S. Representatives Don Beyer, Eugene Vindman, Bobby Scott, Jennifer McClellan, Suhas Subramanyam and James Walkinshaw.
In Charlottesville, Leader Jeffries was joined by Senator Creigh Deeds, Delegate Katrina Callsen and Charlottesville Mayor Juandiego Wade. “It’s an all hands on deck effort to reclaim our democracy and take our country back,” said Jeffries. “This referendum will be one of the most important, because it will help ensure that Donald Trump cannot steal the midterm elections in November. He’s trying to rig the midterm elections because he knows he’s been a failure.”
Jeffries also spoke at a Charlottesville Vote YES Rally with Senator Mark Warner, Senator Deeds, and Delegate Callsen.
Leader Jeffries continued his weekend in Henrico County on Sunday, joined by Lt. Gov. Ghazala Hashmi and Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (VA-04). “We just have to continue to spread the word about fighting for free and fair elections and leveling the playing field and stopping this MAGA power grab,” Jeffries said. “They thought that Democrats were going to step back. But we’re making it clear: We’re not going to step back; we’re going to fight back.”
In Arlington, Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Representative Don Beyer (VA-08) headlined a Super Saturday Kickoff Rally & Canvass Launch. “This is a beautiful Saturday morning to defend democracy. This is what this is all about — to make sure that our system remains fair, to make sure we get closer to our founding ideals,” said Former Attorney General Holder. “This is all about fairness. This is all about saving our democracy. This is all about our people deciding the fate of this nation. We put a check on Donald Trump by participating here in Virginia. Vote YES.”
“If you care about stopping Donald Trump, this is the most important thing you can do,” said Rep. Beyer. We are here in Arlington to make sure every Virginian votes to stop Trump.”
In Henrico, Rep. McClellan held a Vote YES Rally. Henrico and Chesterfield voters are fired up to vote YES for the redistricting referendum.
In Prince William County, Congressman Vindman and Chair Deshundra Jefferson fired up voters with a Saturday Voting Kickoff alongside PWC Dems. “If you are tired of the chaos, cruelty, and corruption, come out,” said Rep. Vindman. “It’s a beautiful day to dump Trump and vote YES.”
Early voting is underway now through April 18. Election Day is April 21.
