See below for a press release from the Democratic Party of Virginia about early voting starting TOMORROW. Make sure you vote early this year, in-person if at all possible, but if by mail then do so well before election day, because who knows with the Trump-crony-run US Postal Service at this point…
TOMORROW: Early Voting Begins as Virginia Democrats Go on Offense Against Trump Republicans for Driving Up Costs
Richmond, VA – With no-excuse early voting beginning tomorrow in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Virginia Democrats are highlighting Virginia Republicans rubber-stamping of Donald Trump’s price-hiking policies. Beyond the corruption, the illegal war in Iran, and the daily abominations of Trump and his Virginia Republican allies – Republicans are hitting Virginians where it hurts most, their pocketbooks.
Working families across Virginia are persevering as rising gas, grocery, healthcare, housing, and utility costs eat into their paychecks. The Republicans who keep putting Trump ahead of their constituents will have to answer for it at the ballot box starting tomorrow.
REMINDER: Under Donald Trump and his congressional lackeys, Virginia families are facing higher costs across the board:
- $686 more on housing costs, such as rent and mortgage payments.
- A $310 increase in grocery spending nationwide during Trump’s first year, with prices now more than 4% higher than before he retook office.
- An estimated $1,083 more in energy costs, including $702 more for gas since Trump’s deadly and costly war with Iran began and $381 more for electricity, partly based on a projection for the first half of 2026.
Democratic Party of Virginia Chair Senator Lamont Bagby released the following statement:
“Virginians don’t have to wait until November to hold Trump’s Republicans accountable. Starting tomorrow, we can vote for leaders with the backbone to stand up to Trump and fight to bring our bills down. Republicans in our congressional delegation have had every opportunity to put Virginia first. Instead, they’ve fallen in line behind Trump and left our families to pick up the tab. We’re going to make every day of early voting count, turning out our neighbors to re-elect Mark Warner and send more Virginia Democrats to Congress who will fight to lower the cost crisis that Donald Trump has forced upon us.”
