From the Virginia 10th CD Democratic Committee:
LOUDOUN, Va. – The House GOP is about to embark on a witch-hunt the likes of which has not seen since the Red Scare of the 1950s. The Benghazi attack conspiracies have metastasized into a right-wing mythology involving allegations of Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of the highest levels of government, Grover Norquist as a shadow agent influencing FBI investigations, the Boston Bombings, Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, and the implementation of sharia law in California. [1]
And a pack of ravenous Congressmen believe exploiting the Benghazi attack conspiracists will lead to their ultimate prize: former-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. [2]
Barbara Comstock, candidate for Virginia’s 10th District Representative, is following her extreme GOP colleagues in their Clinton-Obama witch-hunt. Comstock has long wished to punish Hillary Clinton. In fact, Comstock made her career attacking Hillary Clinton.
In David Brock's 2005 memoir, Blinded by the Right: The Conscience of an Ex-Conservative, Comstock is described “as almost unhinged in her passion to bring down the Clintons.” [3]
“She once dropped by my house to watch the rerun of a dreadfully dull Whitewater hearing she had sat through all day. Comstock sat on the edge of her chair shaking, and screaming over and over again, 'Liars!' . . . the Clinton scandals were driving her to destruction, to the unfortunate point that she was ignoring the needs of her own family.”
“[T]he main breadwinner for her charismatic, happy-go-lucky husband and kids, Comstock remarked that maybe she couldn't get Hillary's sins off her brain because 'Hillary reminds me of me. I am Hillary.' In this admission, a vivid illustration of a much wider 'Hillary' phenomenon can be seen. Comstock knew nothing about Hillary Clinton. Comstock's 'Hillary' was imaginary, a construction composed entirely of the negative points in her own life.” [3]
As House Republicans prepare to dig deeper down the rabbit hole on Benghazi, residents of Virginia’s 10th Congressional District have had enough. Yesterday, Patricia Scott, resident of Great Falls Virginia, posted on Congressman Frank Wolf's Facebook page, bemoaning the soon-to retire Congressman's obsessive focus on the 2012 Benghazi attack. [4]
“Congressman Wolf:
- My children with STEM degrees can't find work… and you do nothing.
- Several hundred thousand low income people in Virginia cannot get health insurance… and you do nothing.
- Northern Virginians sit in traffic jams… and you do nothing.
- Every county in the 10th Congressional district has to lay off teachers and has over-crowded classrooms… and you do nothing.
- Our children are lagging behind Europe, Japan, South Korea, and China in educational achievement… and you do nothing.
But Bengaaaaaziiiiiii! How proud you must be.”
As the Republicans continue to go down the rabbit hole in regards to the 2012 Benghazi attacks, Supervisor John Foust is focused on the things important to everyday Americans: Jobs, education, health-security, improving traffic conditions and fixing problems.
10th district constituent Patricia Scott knows what's important to her family– why doesn't the GOP care about what's important to her?
Because GOP is already deep in the Benghazi rabbit hole, and they're determined to dig themselves in deeper.
Fortunately for the residents of Virginia's 10th Congressional District, there's another option: Supervisor John Foust knows how to work with both sides of the aisle in order to solve problems.
