The Fairfax County Republicans are so “all in” on the disastrous Graham Cassidy bill that they are raising money off if it (see their email below), and are inviting former Senator/Presidential candidate Rick Santorum to speak.
Aside from the sheer cruelty of the bill and the added awfulness of turning it into a moneymaker, apparently they think an issue with 24% approval, promoted by a former candidate who got just 399 total votes in Virginia is a real winner for them.
But what about Ed Gillespie? He’s a Fairfax County Republican. What’s his position on the bill? Will he be attending this fundraiser?
In the meantime, let’s keep calling Senators to stop this monstrosity. There are probably lots of good websites to keep up to date, but here is one. Also, according to Bloomberg, the Senators to watch are Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Susan Collins (R-ME) and John McCain (R-AZ), while Rand Paul (R-KY) has said he’s a “no.”
Dear xxx:
Join us for a fascinating evening with former Senator and Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum on Wednesday, October 4th from 6 to 8 pm in McLean.
Senator Santorum is one of the leading advocates for the Graham-Cassidy Bill which will finally fix the “Affordable Care Act” (many Americans have discovered that ACA is not so affordable). He will share his valuable insights on the details of the Senate Bill; outlook for passage and changes it will bring to the health insurance market.
Tickets for the event are $75 per person and $125 per couple. The tickets can be purchased by following this link or go to our website at www.fairfaxgop.org
We are also seeking sponsors for this important event.
If you can not attend, please take a few minutes to contribute today $50, $100, $250 or more to our Republican efforts. Your donation will help us fight against the millions of dollars in special interest money flowing into Virginia and Fairfax specifically. One in seven of all Virginia voters now live in Fairfax County. Help us get our pro-business, conservative message out to each of these voters.
Thank you and hope to see you on Wednesday, October 4th.
With best regards,
Matt Ames
Chairman
