Far-right Virginia State Sen. Amanda Chase (R), who is also a candidate for governor in 2021, tells us how she really feels. Keep in mind that this is the same individual who said “It’s those who are naive and unprepared that end up raped” and “The ERA Amendment is nothing more than a ploy by the left to eliminate gender altogether”, among many other bats***-crazy things.
Now, Chase rants that the protests following George Floyd’s murder – which she conflates with the toppling of Christopher Columbus’ statue and many other things – “isn’t about destroying Confederate history, it’s about destroying WHITE HISTORY.” First off, what on earth is “white history?” Is there a monolithic group of people who are “white” who have the same history? I mean, just in the Civil War alone, you had “white people” leading both the North (Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, etc.) and the South (Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, etc.), and also fighting and killing each other.
Second, Chase claims “this” – not sure what “this” is, exactly, but presumably she means the protests against racism, police brutality, etc., which the overwhelming majority of Americans approve of by the way – has “everything to do [sic] HATE and racism…from rioters, looters and thugs.”
Chase asks, “Why we are just taking down the ‘white’ monuments and not others? Why not take down ALL monuments?” Wuuuut? Is Chase suggesting we take down monuments to Martin Luther King, Jr.? What on earth is she blathering about?
Finally, she accuses the “liberals” and “socialists” (whoever they are) of being the real “racists,” not “‘We the People’ of this great Commonwealth.” In short, “liberals” and “socialists” are: a) racists; b) not the real “We the People” of Virginia; c) “rioters, looters and thugs”; d) people who want to destroy “white history.” Is this what Chase thinks will constitute a winning message for her 2021 gubernatorial campaign? Is she just focused on winning the 2021 Virginia GOP nomination? Or perhaps this is not really a strategy, but more an expression of her heartfelt beliefs?

Why we are just taking down the “white” monuments and not others? Why not take down ALL monuments?
This is racism and hate at its finest. Its a direct attack against the history of America. These liberals and socialists seek to paint us as racists when it’s them who are racist.
After they destroy the monuments and statues comes our textbooks and rewriting history.

It’s the thugs that are racist, NOT YOU and ‘We The People’ of this great Commonwealth.
If the Virginia Democratic Party truly wanted to end racism, they would have started with their Governor and Mayor.
